Of Our Women's Golf Group
The first Women’s Champion was Suzy Reynolds in 1923, and in 1924. Immediately thereafter, in 1924, the first Women’s Division of the Club was formed later named The Visalia Country Clubs Women's Golf Association.
Our Women's Group competes yearly against many of the San Joaquin Valleys Women Clubs, traveling and completing from Merced, and in some years Bakersfield Ca. Sharing the love of golf with our Valley Women, has bonded into life long friendships.
Thru the years the VCC Ladies Association has partnered with local Visalia High Schools awarding golf scholarships to junior girl golfers. Those girls awarded scholarships may help offset their college expenses as they pursue their passion for golf. One such past scholarship is named "The Sharon Shannon Junior Golf Scholarship" Named for Sharon Shannon a past 13 Women's Club title holder. The Shannon Family have continued to honor her memory with these generous scholarships.
Each year in March (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) the Ladies Group raises funds to support and to help differ costs to our local women in their fight against breast cancer.
The V.C.C. Ladies Group raises money to support our local Food Link., as well as women in our community who need assistance.
The Ladies Group is more than golf and because of our love of the game of golf has created a commitment to our community.
